The Annual Lunch for all volunteers was held on Sunday 23 February.  Distributors' Leader Linda Müller and her team provided a meal of Beef Bourguignon and sweets with a French theme which was enjoyed by seventy guests.  President Dick Groves thanked everyone for their splendid efforts over the last year to maintain a high standard of production for Bromley District Talking News.  Technical Manager Peter Gandolfi provided a cryptic quiz and Head of Copying Bob Wynne organised a general knowledge quiz for those who wanted to take part.  The winning teams were given a small prize.  Several new volunteers attended for the first time and were welcomed to the yearly gathering.

Editor Marilyn Johnstone was this year's Greeter and made everyone welcome.  The raffle in aid of the Association's funds raised £280 and prizes were obtained from local businesses by Head of Marketing and Publicity Marion McHardy.  The raffle was drawn by Vice-President Paulette Obee assisted by Readers' Representative Judy McKeown.  All volunteers were given a small gift as they departed.

President Dick Groves was presented with a cheque for £111 by a member of staff at the Bromley branch of Waitrose on 2nd March.  The award from Waitrose was as a result of customers using the supermarket's green disk scheme.  The Association is grateful to Waitrose and its customers.

Partial closure of BDTN Studio.

We are pleased to be able to partially re-open our Studio, but we cannot yet accept visitors.  Further, we have resumed posting out pouches with memory sticks to all Listeners.  The online and telephone service are also continuing for those who prefer to listen to BDTN that way.

To listen on line, go to the Home page of this website, in the top right hand corner there is a box with the wording "click here for the latest edition".  Click on the box and the edition will start to play automatically.

With the partial re-opening of the Studio, we are able to take telephone calls on Wednesday and Friday mornings between 9:00 am and 10:30 am.  We are not yet able however to arrange visits to Listener's homes to attend to problems with Sovereign Players.

You can also email us using the address: bdtn@btinternet.com and we can again receive mail sent via Royal Mail to our Studio letterbox.

As soon as it is safe to do so, we will fully open the Studio and resume normal service, but in the mean-time thank you for your understanding during this difficult period and keep safe.
