The Annual Lunch for all volunteers was held on Sunday 23 February. Distributors' Leader Linda Müller and her team provided a meal of Beef Bourguignon and sweets with a French theme which was enjoyed by seventy guests. President Dick Groves thanked everyone for their splendid efforts over the last year to maintain a high standard of production for Bromley District Talking News. Technical Manager Peter Gandolfi provided a cryptic quiz and Head of Copying Bob Wynne organised a general knowledge quiz for those who wanted to take part. The winning teams were given a small prize. Several new volunteers attended for the first time and were welcomed to the yearly gathering.
Editor Marilyn Johnstone was this year's Greeter and made everyone welcome. The raffle in aid of the Association's funds raised £280 and prizes were obtained from local businesses by Head of Marketing and Publicity Marion McHardy. The raffle was drawn by Vice-President Paulette Obee assisted by Readers' Representative Judy McKeown. All volunteers were given a small gift as they departed.
